Dining in Nashville
Rachel and Jack love dining throughout Nashville. Below are some of their recommendations for every occasion!

Midtown
Our favorite local place for cocktails, Patterson house is a craft cocktail bar with great cocktails and delicious bites! This is our favorite place to grab a drink in Nashville. We can’t get enough of the wings, and the burger. If you go, tell the general manager, Brandy, we say hi!

Downtown
Four Walls is a fantastic Speak Easy located in the Joseph Hotel. Their cocktails are all so intricate, well thought out, and have intriguing surprise elements. They also have a whole page of Negroni variations!

Germantown
Rolf and Daughters is an institution in Nashville, with great pastas and small bites. Their cocktail program and wine selections are also phenomenal. In the fall, their Sourdough ice cream is a showstopper!

Midtown
The Row is the best ‘Nashville’ restaurant - cheap food, cheap drinks, live music, and great bites. Sit on the patio for the best ambiance!

Downtown
The best coffee in Nashville! Their avocado toast is also delicious. Feel free to pop into their cafe downtown, or their outpost in pinewood social!

Wedgewood Houston
Cafe Babu is a new resident of the Wedgewood Houston Community. Their space is cave meets star wars place. Their Babu Latte is delicious, and comes with a treat!

Gulch
After opening up a taco truck with his stimulus check, head chef Julio Hernandez’s food empire has exploded to include a tortilla shop, and now a restaurant in the gulch! He’s a twice James Beard Award Semi-Finalist, and an avid supporter of Jose Andre’s founded World Central Kitchen. The duck mole they have for dinner lives rent free in Rachel’s head!

Downtown
Husk has meant a lot to us throughout our time in Nashville: it’s where Rachel went as a perspective student when she was touring Vanderbilt, where she went on her move in weekend, where her family took her when they visited, and where her dad had his 50th birthday party. Rachel and Jack have celebrated there many times too, including going to Husk’s 10th anniversary celebration. They have great alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails, and their food is a celebration of southern produce. It’s also where Jack took Rachel for brunch before he proposed!

Downtown
Bourbon steak is Rachel and Jack’s favorite place to do Valentines Day! On the 35th floor of the JW Marriot, the restaurant boasts stunning views of Nashville. Their cocktail menu has both traditional and rebellious variations on classic cocktails, and instead bread course, they bring you a trio of duck fat French fries with their own dipping sauces! Their steaks are delicious and their service is impeccable as well.

Gulch
A James Beard award winner, Arnold’s Country Kitchen is so good it could make you cry. A traditional meat and three, Arnold’s is a lunch counter, serving various proteins, sides, and desserts. Everything is so good, and the people there are so kind, but the prime rib is one of Rachel and Jack’s favorites. Its a great representation of great southern cuisine!

Midtown
Rachel and Jack have never been to Halls for dinner, but their lunch and Gospel Brunch are stellar. The service is phenomenal, and the steak sandwich for lunch is great! The gospel brunch was accompanied by an incredible gospel band, that was so entertaining to listen to.

Germantown
Vivek of Tailor is a first generation American, who grew up on Indian food cooked with Tennessee ingredients. He’s taken this concept into his tasting menu restaurant, based on a dinner party. With a few tings of his champagne glass, he introduces each course toast style. For a great takehome, he sells his and his dad’s special Chai!

Downtown
On the ground floor of the Joseph hotel, Yolan is a case study on different regions of Italy. Their team travels semi-annually to a different Italian region to learn about their food, wine, and culture, and bring it to Nashville. Every person you interact with is so knowledgeable and friendly, and the food does not disappoint!

Wedgewood Houston
Josh, the owner, started at Violet Hour in Chicago before founding Patterson House in Nashville. His space is separated into the Big Bar, and the restaurant. The Big Bar has great craft cocktails, games and a really cool overall vibe. The tasting menu is unique, yet friendly. The music playing throughout both spaces comes from Josh’s own personal record collection!

Wedgewood Houston
Iggys is run by two brothers: Ryan Poulit, the Chef, and Matt Poulit, the Sommelier. It has great, interesting pastas, and soft serve for dessert (Rachel’s favorite!). Their wine menu is also fantastic, especially the wines by the glass. Its a great way to try a bunch of grapes and learn about wine over great food!

Downtown
Martin’s BBQ is Rachel and Jack’s favorite barbecue in Nashville. The Second Avenue location has great character, and is a great place to hang out, especially with large groups. An insider tip: if the line is long, you can order food at the bar!

Downtown
Pinewood social is a great spot to grab breakfast or a quick lunch! If its nice out, their patio is gorgeous in the summer. They have one of our favorite non alcoholic drinks in Nashville - blackberry!

Midtown
Tailgate brewery is the largest microbrewery in Tennessee. Its home to a rotating variety of beers! Rachel loves their sour series, and Jack loves their Trees IPA series. They also make the perfect patio beer: their Cerveza con Lime!

Germantown
Giest is a swanky bar and restaurant just north of Nashville. They perfectly tow the line between trendy and delicious cuisine.

East Nashville
A sister restaurant to Rolf and Daughters, Folk is home to great pizza and small bites!

Gulch
Emmy Squared is home to Detroit style pizza, and a great le big mac burger! They also have a great space for larger parties on the roof!

East Nashville
If you love Tiki cocktails, Chopper is a little out of the way, but a must visit! They use Geeky Tiki Mugs to deliver cocktails that are such a great appreciation of tiki.

12 South
Five Daughters is known for their 100 layer donuts. Rachel loves them, though, because they have minis, so you can try a bunch of flavors at once!

12 South
Urban Grub has a little bit of everything, thanks to their raw bar and onsite butcher. The pork fries are delicious, but we’ve never had a bad bite!

Downtown
Steps from downtown, Fifth and Broadway is a food court and general complex full of Nashville’s classic restaurants. While nothing beats the ambiance of each location’s main spot, this is a great way to try a spread of Nashville steps from downtown!

East Nashville
Nominated for a James Beard award, Noko gives 'Nobu' vibes with a unmistakeable southern charm. Between delicious bites cooked on their wood-fired grills, a great cocktail menu, and the friendliest kindest staff, its a must go (if you can get a reservation!)
